ASSESSMENT OF SEISMIC INTENSITY BY USING GREY CLUSTER METHOD

This paper deals with the assessment of seismic intensity between intensity VI-XI,which is the most significant for earthquake engeneering,by using the grey cluster method.Besides introducing the grey cluster analysis method,in many practical earthquake examples,such as the Tangshan earthquake,Haicheng earthquake and Wushi earthquake,seismic intensities are evaluated by calculation and compared with previous results obtained by other seismologists.In the light of these studies,we consider thit the grey cluster method is a good method for indentifying seismic intensity by calculation,being simple and practicable.
