DETERMINATION OF Q-VALUE BY THE CODA WAVE FOR A PORTION OF THE SICHUAN PROVINCE

  • 摘要: 按照安艺敬一(Aki)提出的地震尾波理论,利用同一地震的多台记录,以同一地震有一确定的地震矩为基础建立方程,并以文献[8]所得出的品质因子数为基准,测定了四川部份地区地壳浅部的介质品质因子.结果表明,地震尾波的衰减存在着明显的方位依赖.根据1971年至1975年间几次地震所给出 Q 值来看,四川部份地区大致可以分为三个不同的 Q 值区,值得注意的是:低 Q 区内曾发生过7.1级强震.
    Abstract: By using the theory of coda waves developed by K. Aki for an earthquake recorded at a number of stations and the equations based on the assumption that each earthquake has a definite seismic moment, the Q-value of the crustal medium at shallow depth of a portion of the province of Sichuan has been determined, taking the results published by Chen Yuntai et al.[8] as a basis.The results thus obtained reveal a definite character of variation with direction of the attenuation of coda waves. Besides, earthquakes occurred from 1971 to 1975 give three sub-regions of the province, each of different Q-value. It is also noted that in the region, of low Q-value occurred an earthquake of magnitude 7.1.
