APPLICATION OF PATTERN RECOGNITION TO THE STUDY OF THE DYNAMIC FACTOR OF OCCURRENCE OF LARGE EARTHQUAKES

  • 摘要: 用模式识别方法研究了大地震的发生时间与中等地震活动性、太阳活动水平、地球自转之间的关系.由模式识别所得的性质提出,大地震前中等地震活动达到一定水平是大地震可能发生的重要性质.而太阳活动极值前后及自转加速度变化较大时段可能触发大地震.
    Abstract: A pattern recognition algorithm has been used to correlate the occurrence time of a large earthquake to intermediate-size earthquake activity, to the level of sunspot activity and the rotation of the earth. The characteristics given by pattern recognition suggest that, before the occurrence of a large earthquake when the level of intermediate earthquake activity increases to a definite level, may be an important characteristic for the occurrence of that large earthquake. As well around the extreme values of sunspot activity and the time interval of relatively large variations of the acceleration of rotation of the earth may also trigger large earthquakes.
