关于大地震强度量度的讨论
DISCUSSION ON QUANTIFICATION OF LARGE EARTHQUAKES

摘要: 大地震,特别是巨大地震很有可能是多重事件.为了与中、小地震强度定量相统一,量度多重事件强度特性需要对其中各次破裂分别给出各自的震级和相应的周期、时间特性.文中还讨论了传统的地震观测及震级标度存在的某些问题及改进的可能途径.Abstract: Large earthquakes, especially great earthquakes might be considered as multiple events. To unify quantification with moderate and small earthquakes, it is necessary to get the individual magnitudes of the events and their corresponding periods and time characteristics.The present paper discusses also some problems of the magnitude scale in conventional seismic observation as well as possible ways to improve them.
