中国东部六省的 Lg 震级(下)--震级关系

Lg MAGNITUDE DETERMINATION FOR THE EASTERN SIX PROVINCES OF CHINA (PART Ⅱ)--RELATION BETWEEN MAGNITUDES

  • 摘要: 中国东部六省地区 Lg 震级系统,mLgz,mLgh,mmxz和 mmxh,相互均呈良好的线性关系,便于互相换算.mmxh可以取代东部六省原 ML(ECH),并基本保持了 ML(ECH)的震级水平.mmxh约比南加利福尼亚的 ML(SC)标度高0.36震级单位.通过 Rmax(△)和云南 R3(△)的比较,发现云南地区的 MAX 相约1秒值比东六省的约小1倍.并得到云南地区 MAX 震级校准函数.观测表明:在4——5级范围内,mmxh=mb.由此导出 mb(中国东部)=mb(美国西部).这与中国东部和美国西部的衰减因子 r 值大约相等的结果吻合.

     

    Abstract: Any pair of m1gz,m1gh,mmxz, and mmxh in the six eastern provinces of China show good linear relation with each other this makes it easy to convert from one to another scale. mmxh may replace ML(ECH) as the local earthquake magnitude scale for the six eastern provinces yet preserving the level of ML(ECH). The scale mmxh is 0.36 magnitude units higher than ML(SC) for southern California. By comparing Rmax(△) with R3(△) of Yunnan, it is found that y value of MAX phase about 1 second in Yunnan region is half as large as that in the six eastern provinces of China.Observations indicate that mmmxhmb between magnitude 4-5. It follows therefore that mb (east China)mb (west U. S.). This is supported by the result that the attenuation coefficient y in eastern China is approximately the same as that in western United States.
