Magnitude measurement and explosive yield estimate using Hailar seismic array

  • 摘要: 2016年1月6日、2016年9月9日与2017年9月3日在东北亚地区发生了3次爆炸事件。使用海拉尔地震台阵资料,拾取3次爆炸事件的P波和Lg波的振幅,计算振幅谱、测量震级和估计当量。采用震级国家标准根据P波计算短周期体波震级mb(P),3次爆炸事件的结果依次为5.3±0.1、5.6±0.1和6.1±0.1。使用Lg波第三峰值振幅方法计算3次事件的短周期体波震级mb(Lg),结果依次为4.33±0.05、4.56±0.4和5.60±0.03。2017年事件的Lg波的低频成分比前2次事件的更为发育,振幅相对更大,这种现象可能是由于2017年事件的爆炸破坏机制或爆炸技术流程不同导致的。将由mb(P)和mb(Lg) 通过震级-当量经验公式计算得到的当量结果平均值作为最终当量结果,3次事件的爆炸当量依次为14.4±4.3、34±11.6和190.4±45.4 kt。因此,2017年爆炸事件能量约为2016年9月事件的5.6倍,约为2016年1月事件的13.2倍。

     

    Abstract: There were three explosions on January 6, 2016, September 9, 2016, and September 3, 2017. Using the data of Hailar seismic array, the amplitudes of P-phase and Lg-phase of the three explosions were picked up, the amplitude spectrum were calculated, the magnitude were measured and the yield were estimated. The mb (P) of short-period body wave magnitude calculated by using the national standard of magnitude are 5.3±0.1, 5.6±0.1 and 6.1±0.1, respectively. The mb (Lg) of short-period body wave magnitude calculated by using the third peak method of Lg-phase are 4.33±0.05, 4.56±0.4和5.60±0.03, respectively. The low-frequency component of Lg-phase for the event of 2017 is more developed than that of the previous two events, and the amplitude is relatively larger, which is inferred to be related to the explosion damage mechanism or explosion technical process. The average yield results obtained by mb (P) and mb (Lg) through the magnitude-yield empirical formula were taken as the yield results of the three events, which were 14.4±4.3, 34±11.6 and 190.4±45.4 kt, respectively. The energy of the explosion event in 2017 was 5.6 times that of the event in September 2016 and 13.2 times that of the event in January 2016.
