Acta Seismologica Sinica is an academic journal originally hosted and sponsored by the Seismological Society of China. The Institute of Geophysics of the China Earthquake Administration was added as the second sponsor in 2012. The first issue of our journal was published in 1979 quarterly, and then since 1997 it has been published bimonthly. Prof. Chen Yun-tai served as the Honorary Editor-in-Chief (EIC) for Acta Seismological Sinica for a very long time, and the present EIC is Prof. Ding Zhifeng.
Acta Seismologica Sinica aims to publish high-quality, original, peer-reviewed articles on earthquake-related research topics, which include geophysics, seismo-geology, engineering seismology, seismic hazards, as well as earthquake forecasting and prediction. It also publishes papers presenting different viewpoints, and reviews related to earthquake science. In addition, papers about the present status and progress on seismology and geophysics are also welcome.
Acta Seismologica Sinica as a core journal in geophysics has been incorporated by many important domestic and international index and abstract databases, such as Index Copernicus, SJR (SCImago), РЖ (Russia), JST (JSTA), Scopus, Chinese Science and Technology Core Journals (Natural Science) by Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China, Peking University Core Journals, and Chinese Science Citation Database.
