OBSERVATION OF NEAR FIELD STRONG GROUND MOTION AND SEISMIC SOURCE FEATURE ANALYSIS FOR THE EARTHQUAKE SWARM OF XUNWU, JIANGXI PROVINCE OF AUG. 2, 1987

  • Using a mobile small-aperture network consisting of DCS-302 Digital Cassette Tape Recorf-ing Seismgraphs,we obtained a series of the near-field acceleration records of the moderate and small earthquakes of the Xunwu earthquake swarm. Through selection,23 earthquakes among them were accurately located. We worked out the composite fault plane solution and compared it with the fault plane solution of the main shock of the swarm. We also determined the peak-value acceleation and hypocenter parameters of the greater earthquakes as well as analysed the focus feactures of the swarm. The results show that the focus rupture process of the swarm was under the control of a NW fault in southern Jiangxi province.
