  • It is presented here the method and instruments of heat flow measurements in drill holes used in this work, consisting of a sensor of semiconductive thermistor for measuring temperature in drill holes, a laboratory set for determining the thermal conductivity of core samples. Then, the actual data of temperature and thermal conduetivity measurements with the calculated values of heat flow for 16 drill holes at 11 localities obtained during the last few years in North China are given. Some preliminary discussions on the relation of the distribution of heat flow and the complex geological situation in North China are made, for example, on the possible explanation of the higher heat flow values and their more scattering character in northern and eastern China than those of the tectonic regions of similar type in other parts of the world.
