  • To simplify the analysis of the tectonic stress field in plane, holographic inter-ferometry has been applied to model experiments. Preliminary results from these experiments show that clustering of lines of equal sum of stress corresponds approximately with the distribution of historical earthquakes. This new technique has obviously through light upon better regionalization of earthquake risk areas.
