Abstract
The method which defines the magnitude formulas for single station and seismograph network, the standard deviation and station correction of the magnitudes is systematically explained.According to about 1 Hz Lg attenuation coefficient determined in the region including six eastern provinces of China, the Lg magnitude formulas for this region are deduced as follows: mLg(z,h)=lgdLg(z,h)+5/6lg+0.0019+2.09 mmx(z,h)=lgdmx(x,h)+lg+0.0013+1.27 MLgz,MLgh,Mmxz and Mmxh of 19 events in the region, an 80 station correction values are calculated accurately. The standard deviation of single station magnitude is 0.15-0.16 magnitude unit, and that of seismograph network is 0.03-0.04 unit.In addition, Mmxz and Mmxh of 111 events are determined. Some relations and results deduced by 19 events are verified or completed.
